I'm curious what makes you "lament" having all those opportunities and experiences in your twenties. I sometimes feel I didn't say yes enough in that decade of my life, because I was too afraid, and now in my thirties, feel that I can't gain that time or opportunity back. But as you say, "it may be time to go around, not between".
I guess I mean that I feel like I used up my quota of risk and romance and adventure in my twenties, and I now don't feel like I can be as free-spirited or carefree as I once was - either because of adult responsibilities or simply feeling like I'm too old to do so... definitely not true but an affliction I'm constantly battling! So I think we're perhaps saying the same thing – but in reality we definitely do have time to say yes more in our thirties. Just got to push through the discomfort...
