I’m aware that I am writing this from the hopeful sun of Marseille, where the clouds are little more than a thin veil of hazing shielding us from the heat, but the clocks have gone back and I stood outside a pub for two hours last weekend in Newington Green with a glass of Sicilian white, a good friend and uninterrupted sunshine, so there’s change afoot. Seeing as there are a few new people reading this (hello!) and the fact that I’ve been a creature of habit for the past three months and have run out of recipes to share (I’m back on it next week), here’s a round up of recipes-not-recipes over the years that signal the sinking in of spring. Fun fact, before I started charging for my newsletter (it took me two and a bit years), I wrote everything all in one big newsletter so even if you’re not a paid subscriber you have access to some of my archive recipes from 2020-2022 - you’ve just got to scroll back a little while. I’ve included a few here, so you can read an essay, recommendations and recipes all in one place.
