I realise how often I refer to the seasons or the weather when I’m writing introductions. When I got off my meeting this morning and closed the window, Kyla laughed because the next tab just read ‘Vancouver weather’. I am never not thinking about it. It’s hot and humid today. The sunlight was bursting through the patio doors. It felt strange to use the oven but it paid off thanks to some early prep time. When I think of an autumnal salad I think of kale and squash and feta, dijon mustard and maple-laced dressing. The plums were a last minute addition but were just ripe and juicy enough to make them worth it.
