It’s exceedingly British of me to discuss the weather, especially during a heatwave, but there’s very little I can think about. It is simply too hot. I’m sitting in my living room, the curtains drawn, a fan blowing warm air into my face, a bottle of cold–but-quickly-getting-warmer Vichy Catalan (why is it so good?) as a reminder to hydrate. Is this what it feels like to be a raisin? I haven’t cooked a proper meal in weeks (can you tell, from all the cold noodle not-recipes I’ve been serving?) and I’m starting to question my relationship with summer (I think we’re breaking up). Wouldn’t mind fast-forwarding until mid-September, but I also know we should enjoy the long, languorous days of August. I’m trying. In an attempt to actually cook a meal as opposed to assemble various cold elements in either a bowl or a sandwich, this is another Sad Pasta recipe, with a Korean twist.
