There is always 1/2 bag of orzo in my kitchen. I usually use the first half on the famed Ottolenghi fennel, feta, orzo and prawn dish that I make at least monthly, so there’s a good chance that whatever hasn’t been tipped into that is left sitting on the top shelf of my cupboard, waiting to be used up. The other evening, after eating breakfast and lunch at strange times, I found myself hungry at 9pm and determined not to Deliveroo my usual order of noodles and dumplings. Instead, a truly fridge leftovers meal. It’s not imperative to have fresh chicken stock and some leftover roast in the fridge, but it definitely helps.
