Leftovers #95
Returning exes, the grown up version of One Day, a coffee spritz to power your presentations, scallion noodles and back pocket pastas
Two strangers (friends of friends, in all fairness) are staying in my flat for the weekend and it’s narcissistic and odd to think about how your interior world can either be reflected or deflected by your home’s interior. Right now it’s chaos. Unhoovered, laundry everywhere, dishes piled high. By tomorrow morning it will be in perfect order. Hope they don’t bump into me on the way here; my frantic, anxious energy will belie the flat’s serenity.

Thinking About
– The incredible meal I had last weekend with
who brought me with her to Ali Alzein and Farrokh Aman’s feast at E5 Bakery. An incredible fusion of Palestinian and Iranian dishes, we ate perfectly crispy golden tahdig, unctious maqloubah and a beautifully bitter molokhia. Mehlaqa and Jenan are cooking at E5 on Saturday. The event is sold out but you can still make a donation to their charity of choice, Restless Beings, here (you’ll need to open it on your IG app).Free Palestine. Ceasefire now. Email your MPs.
