Leftovers #25

Yesterday I was put to sleep at Homerton Hospital and when I woke up I’d lost an hour but gained some much needed rest. Afterwards I said to friends that we should all be put under for a couple of days just to catch up on sleep. I’m only half joking. I returned home thinking of only one thing: roasting a chicken and cooking beans in stock as the rain tapped on the metal roof outside. The weather obliged and after a few care-package-in-tow visitors, it was this exact ritual that saw me through the discomfort post-procedure. Anyway, here are this week’s recommendations and recipes that have been keeping me up and night.
