I always know something’s up when I start to frantically consume. I spend hours scrolling through beauty platforms, figuring out what moisturiser or oil will magically transform my skin to its former coastal glory; endlessly looking at clothes from old and new brands; making lists of healthy meals to eat that week (usually promptly replaced by an impromptu reservation or two). I know that I’m not dealing with the real issue (what they call ‘inner work’), so I’m trying to balance the two. A top up of my favourite Californian collagen-infused moisturiser and a return to the mat for some self-practice; an evening gorging on Pakistani dishes on the floor and a smoothie before spin. This week so far has been a reminder to do things properly, wholly and gently.
